Cruises are making waves not only with expanded business offerings in Asia, but are finding ways to give back to the community through outreach efforts. One such effort was the partnership between Genting Hong Kong and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals’ (TWGHs) to host the 2nd Charity Voyage.

From September 22 to 24, 100 invited patrons and students with their parents travelled on a board the Genting Dream for a weekend voyage filled with specially organised activities including a team challenge and a festive foam party at the ZOUK Beach Club, among other events.

As part of the initiative, a donation of HKD300,000 (US$38,392.23) was also made to TWGH’s Student All-rounded Development Fund to support its education services.

"As our parent company, Genting Hong Kong, expands its business in Asia, it is equally important that we also expand our support for the communities in which we operate. It is very fitting that Dream Cruises is hosting this charity voyage as we are committed to helping the youth of Hong Kong to fulfil their dreams of continuing their education for a better future,” said Thatcher Brown, president, Dream Cruises.

Kazaf Tam, chairman of the organizing committee for TWGHs Charity Voyage on Dream Cruises and the 4th Vice-Chairman of TWGHs, remarked that the organisation was delighted to be holding its Charity Voyage on Genting Dream again following on the success of the first cruise in January 2017.
