Originally from California, Bob Guy migrated to the Pacific Rim in the 1970s and has spent time in Fiji Islands and Australia before settling in Singapore in 1979. He served as Group General Manager of Tour East, Co-Founder and Regional Managing Director of Pacific World before joining Destination Asia in 2010.
Guy is progressively retiring from his role in the industry and has handed over responsibilities for Destination Asia Singapore to his successor, Matthew Smith. He continues to serve as Managing Director of Destination Asia in Malaysia, part of a regional DMC network with offices in 11 countries. Through its Cruise Asia brand, Destination Asia provides turnaround port services and shore excursions for cruise lines at 52 ports throughout the Far East/Asian region.
He has been involved in cruise line/shore side handling since 1972, serving leading cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean/Celebrity, Carnival, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Princess Cruises and Costa. Guy also advises terminals, ports and tourist authorities in the region on cruise industry issues.
